Merry Barn
The Merry Barn has a long history built in the early 1900’s by a family of shipbuilders and captains. The original architecture includes ships' knees. The barn has been used for everything from hay storage to a storied dance hall in the 1950’s. The Barn with the aid of Phelps Architects Inc., underwent recent renovation and upgrades for use as a literacy center and space for creativity in the community. The Merry Barn Writers' Retreat officially opened on June 29, 2019 with outstanding support from the community for the program and the current owner Stephanie McSherry. www.merrybarn.com.
