About Phelps Architects
Phelps Architects Inc. is a Maine based architecture firm specializing in Residential and Commercial Architecture including new construction, additions, renovations and historic restorations. We offer a range of services for varying project sizes and types including custom waterfront residential projects with noted expertise designing to accommodate for complex new construction and expansions, floodplains, and ledge conditions. Our commercial services experience includes municipal, healthcare and education markets including community buildings, gymnasiums, veterinary/animal care facilities and physician offices.
The office is owned and operated by its Principals, husband and wife team Michelle B. Phelps and Daniel A Phelps. Our offices are located both in Damariscotta and Portland covering the Midcoast/Downeast and Southern Maine communities and beyond. Our licensed architectural offerings include planning, full architectural services, interior design, pre-design, real estate feasibility consulting, regulatory research and permitting, and construction budgeting.

Dan Phelps, AIA, NCARB
Principal
Dan is an accomplished licensed architect with thirty years experience in Custom Residential, Commercial, and Healthcare related projects. His responsibilities have included all aspects of planning, design, project management and construction administration. Dan is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts and is where he began his professional career.
Michelle Phelps, AIA, NCARB
Principal
Michelle Phelps is an accomplished licensed architect with thirty years experience in Custom Residential & Commercial architecture with many notable recent and past projects featured in publications. Michelle is a graduate of the Boston Architectural College (BAC) with a B.ARCH Degree from the School of Architecture with a background in both Interior Design & Fine Arts.
